Tiffany Stratton, the WWE Women’s Champion, struggled against 14-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair on WWE SmackDown. After winning the Women’s Royal Rumble earlier this year, Flair challenged Stratton for her title at WWE WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

For weeks, both superstars have exchanged heated words. However, on last Friday’s SmackDown, Tiffany faced a tough challenge against the veteran Charlotte Flair during their segment. In a satellite interview, Flair belittled Tiffany, calling her a pity pick and dismissing her title win. She chose Stratton as her opponent at WrestleMania 41 out of pity.

Tiffany Stratton retaliated, accusing Charlotte Flair of undermining rising stars to keep them from shining. Flair dismissed her, stating that she wasn’t even the biggest name on SmackDown or in the WWE.

The segment ended with Stratton repeating her claims about Flair holding back rising talent, she struggled to maintain her ground against the veteran. Following the awkward segment, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray criticized Tiffany’s performance, believing she failed to hold her own against Flair in the segment.

On Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray shared his thoughts on the segment, questioning whether Tiffany Stratton was ready to face Charlotte Flair. Ray also pointed out that Stratton struggled throughout the exchange.

He stated, “What about that side-by-side, back-and-forth verbal battle the other night on SmackDown would make you believe that Tiffany is ready for Charlotte Flair? It was night and day between the two. It was not a very good night for Tiffany at all. … I honestly believe that Tiffany is flustered and she’s nervous. It’s written all over her face.” [H/T: ewrestlingnews]

With only a few weeks left until WrestleMania 41, it will be interesting to see if Tiffany Stratton can hold her own against Charlotte Flair. Having been on the main roster for just a year, the 25-year-old faced her toughest challenge last week. Whether she can shift the momentum in her favor remains to be seen—only time will tell.
