WWE NXT Superstar Jaida Parker, a rising star in the division, recently responded to criticism about her finisher, Hipnotic. As a fan favorite, many see Parker as a future NXT Women’s Champion.

Jaida Parker, who joined WWE in 2022, has steadily built her career and secured her spot on the NXT roster after competing in live events and NXT Level Up. She recently earned a singles title opportunity and will challenge Stephanie Vaquer for the women’s title next week.

Determined to secure her first championship, Parker continues using her Hipnotic, a running hip attack, to win matches. However, some fans remain critical of the move for not looking effective.

During her appearance on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, Jaida Parker defended her finisher, explaining its roots in soccer and dismissing the criticism. She stated, “Not to be disrespectful but, if I were to use another one, then I wouldn’t be Jaida Parker. Because that Hipnotic is Jaida Parker. So, I understand people don’t like it, they don’t understand it. Well, you’re not me. You’re not gonna understand and you’re not gonna like it but I promise you, if I sit your ass down right here and I run at you like I run at them, you not gonna get up.”

She continued, “So they could talk all they want to. ‘Oh, it’s not this, it’s not that.’ I pay attention to it. Do I have to listen to it? No, because it’s just fuel to the fire. But my Hipnotic, it comes from soccer because if you really wanna get hip-checked in soccer, I will make you fly about 30 yards, if we’re being honest, having that type of momentum. But if people don’t understand it or don’t want to accept it, that’s not my problem. That sounds like a personal problem.” [H/T: PostWrestling]

Jaida Parker stands by ‘Hipnotic’ finisher despite WWE fan backlash

In the same interview, while defending her Hipnotic finisher, Jaida Parker hinted at upgrading the move but made it clear she has no plans to change it. She stated, “So it’s okay, and no, I’m not gonna change my finisher. I’m not. I might upgrade it, but I’m not changing it. I can only go up from here and there’s so many people, ‘Oh, you need to get this, you need to get that.’”

She continued, “Well, I think you need to mind your damn business. Unless you wanna get hit with that by yourself but, to each their own… I don’t think it’s mean (she laughed)… What works for me. If it don’t work for you, that is not my problem.”

With Parker shutting down the criticism, it will be interesting to see if the Hipnotic finisher helps her secure her first title win next week.
