Finn Bálor, the leader of The Judgment Day, reacted after Dominik Mysterio’s mistake cost him the WWE Intercontinental Championship on RAW. Tensions between Bálor and Mysterio have been escalating for months.
A few weeks ago, Bálor and The Judgment Day crossed paths with Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker. Last week on WWE RAW, Mysterio informed Bálor that he had secured him a title match by speaking with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce. He explained that Pearce was waiting for Bálor to make it official.
In response, Finn Bálor hugged Dominik Mysterio, seemingly putting their issues to rest. However, just before Bálor’s match against Breakker, tensions flared up again. Mysterio suggested to Bálor that they add Penta to The Judgment Day in JD McDonagh’s absence.
Shocked, Finn Bálor questioned why Dominik Mysterio wanted to recruit someone targeting the Intercontinental Championship. This week, after defeating Ludwig Kaiser, Penta made it clear he was coming for the title. Frustrated, Bálor called Mysterio a snake and stormed off.
During the match, Bálor was moments away from victory when Dominik Mysterio interfered, costing him the title. After the loss, Bálor shared a photo from the match, capturing the exact moment Mysterio’s actions cost him, and added a snake emoji.
Dominik Mysterio’s inferences cost Finn Bálor the WWE Intercontinental title
During the match, as Finn Bálor climbed to the top rope for his finishing move against Bron Breakker, The Judgment Day’s Carlito ran into the ring and distracted the referee. Seizing the moment, Dominik Mysterio tried to shove Breakker off the turnbuckles but accidentally sent Bálor crashing down awkwardly instead.
Bálor, furious at Dominik Mysterio, became distracted, allowing Bron Breakker to take advantage. Breakker knocked Mysterio off the apron, then turned his focus to Bálor, hitting a Frankensteiner followed by a Spear to retain his title.
With tensions already building in The Judgment Day, next week’s confrontation between Bálor and Mysterio will be interesting.
