Former AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF suffered a loss against Hangman Page this past weekend at AEW Revolution. The pay-per-view took place at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
Their rivalry heated up earlier this year after multiple confrontations, leading MJF to attack Hangman Page’s mentor, Christopher Daniels. In a bold move, MJF also removed his AEW logo tattoo, which he originally got to mark his return in May 2024.
He explained that he no longer wanted the tattoo because fans had turned against him and sided with Hangman Page. Last week, on AEW Dynamite, MJF attempted to set Page on fire, but officials intervened before he could go through with it.
As tensions reached their peak, Page warned MJF and stepped into the ring for their highly anticipated showdown at AEW Revolution. Both competitors gave it their all, with MJF delivering a devastating Tombstone Piledriver onto a chair.
Despite the brutal move onto the chair, Page fought back and secured the victory with a Buckshot Lariat. Following the loss, a major update has emerged regarding the former AEW World Heavyweight Champion’s status.
MJF to address fans following his defeat at AEW Revolution on Dynamite
AEW officially announced that MJF would address the fans and share his thoughts on losing to Hangman Page. He will speak on the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite, which will take place at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.
Many expected MJF to defeat Hangman Page and re-enter the AEW World Title picture. Instead, the loss pushed him down the rankings, while Swerve Strickland, who defeated Ricochet, secured the number one contender spot for Jon Moxley’s world title.
With Strickland now next in line, MJF seems unlikely to get a title shot anytime soon. However, his upcoming Dynamite appearance raises plenty of questions. Will he announce his next move, or will a new challenger step up to start his next feud?
