A major update has emerged regarding TBS Champion Mercedes Mone after her match at AEW Revolution 2025 ahead of Dynamite. Mone, who currently holds four championships, defended her TBS title against Momo Watanabe at AEW Revolution 2025.
She currently holds the AEW TBS Championship, the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship, and the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship, which she unified with the Southside Wrestling Entertainment Women’s Championship.
Over the weekend, Mone successfully defended her title against Momo Watanabe in Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena. Although their match had no major stipulation, reports confirm that both Mone and Watanabe messed up following their match.
Reports indicate Mercedes Mone is ‘messed up’ after AEW Revolution 2025
Wrestling journalists Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez provided an update on Mercedes Mone and Momo Watanabe following AEW Revolution 2025 on Wrestling Observer Radio. They reported that multiple wrestlers sustained injuries during the event, with Moné and Watanabe among those affected.
Alvarez stated, “And as far as I know, nobody is seriously hurt, but there are many people who are banged up. So as far as the severity, I don’t know.” Meltzer provided an update specifically on Mercedes Mone and Momo Watanabe, noting that both were affected.
Meltzer stated, “Mercedes messed up. What Momo messed up. Momo left on crutches, and I think she hurt her ankle on some spot. It was not for kicking her in the face… although she kicked Mercedes right in the…actually, you know what? I think it was the neck because what I heard was bruised larynx on Mercedes, but, I mean, she was backstage and seemed to be largely okay, so I guess that’s something to just check on.” [H/T: wrestlingnews]
However, with Mercedes Mone banged up, it will be interesting to see if she appears on the upcoming edition of AEW Dynamite. The show is set to take place at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.
Meanwhile, Kenny Omega, who recently won the AEW International Championship, is scheduled to address the fans. Additionally, MJF, who suffered a major loss against Hangman Page, is also set to appear on the show.
