WWE Superstar Seth Rollins recently addressed the possibility of reuniting with his former Shield brothers, Roman Reigns and Jon Moxley. The Shield made their debut at WWE Survivor Series 2012 with Reigns, Rollins, and Moxley — then known as Dean Ambrose — quickly rising to become one of WWE’s most dominant factions.
Between 2012 and 2014, The Shield dominated WWE, with all three members reaching main-event status. However, the faction shockingly split in 2014 when Rollins betrayed Reigns, attacking him with a steel chair in one of WWE’s most unforgettable moments.
A decade later, at WrestleMania 40, WWE revisited this iconic betrayal — but this time, Reigns turned the tables, striking Rollins with a chair. The moment highlighted the lasting impact of their storyline and the significance of the original chair shot.
After the split, all three superstars rose to the top as singles competitors, each earning Grand Slam Champion status. Between 2017 and 2019, The Shield reunited multiple times, but in 2019, Dean Ambrose made a surprising move by leaving WWE to sign with AEW as Jon Moxley. Despite Moxley being in AEW, fans still hope for a reunion of The Shield.
Currently, Moxley holds the AEW World Heavyweight Championship and recently defended his title against Cope at AEW Revolution. While Moxley continues to thrive in AEW, Rollins recently addressed speculation about a possible Shield reunion.
Seth Rollins on The Shield reunion: ‘One of our guys is over in the other company’
Seth Rollins recently appeared on WFAN, where he discussed his infamous heel turn against The Shield. When asked about the lasting impact of the faction and the possibility of a reunion at WrestleMania 41, Rollins acknowledged the speculation. However, he pointed out that one of their original members, Jon Moxley is in AEW making a reunion unlikely.
He stated, “I mean, look, one of our guys [Jon Moxley] is over in the other company [AEW], so he ain’t coming. Roman Reigns and I are here [WWE] for life. Our paths are going to be intertwined; we’re going to crisscross here and there until both of us are done and retired. So you never know. You never know what WrestleMania is going to look like. You never know what next month is going to look like could be anytime.”
Despite fans’ strong interest in a Shield reunion, the possibility remains unlikely due to Jon Moxley being in AEW. Additionally, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are currently feuding, making a reunion even more unlikely anytime soon.
