Roman Reigns last appeared at WWE Royal Rumble 2025, where he suffered a brutal attack that took him out of the match. As one of the top favorites to win the Men’s Royal Rumble, he entered at number 16 and quickly dominated, eliminating Bron Breakker, Sheamus, The Miz, and Joe Hendry to secure a spot in the final six.
However, the match took a shocking turn when Reigns faced his longtime rival and former Shield brother, Seth Rollins. With over a decade of tension between them, Reigns and Rollins battled fiercely, each trying to eliminate the other. Their heated exchange gave CM Punk the perfect opening to toss both men over the top rope.
Frustrated, Seth Rollins attacked Roman Reigns on the floor, delivering a vicious Curb Stomp before brawling with CM Punk. But he didn’t stop there. Rollins delivered a second devastating Curb Stomp on the steel steps, leaving Reigns out cold.
Following the attack by Seth Rollins, WWE confirmed Reigns had sustained injuries. It was also confirmed by the trainers later that Reigns would be out of action for the foreseeable future. Now, after weeks of absence, WWE has officially announced that Reigns will return to WWE SmackDown on March 21 in Bologna, Italy, and again on March 28 in London, England.
Reacting to the announcement, Reigns issued a warning regarding the actions of WWE Royal Rumble 2025, hinting at unfinished business.
Roman Reigns set for WWE SmackDown appearances in March
Roman Reigns, who suffered a brutal attack from Seth Rollins, was initially reported to be injured. However, later reports revealed that WWE announced the injury to explain Reigns’ short-term absence from storylines. The reason was to keep Reigns out of the Men’s Elimination Chamber match and avoid having him take a pinfall loss.
With Reigns now scheduled to return to WWE SmackDown in March, he has sent out a warning message, saying, “Greatness is coming to Bologna and London. Your Tribal Chief has business to attend to. Receipts are coming…”
It will be interesting to see what unfolds once Reigns makes his return, as his first target will undoubtedly be Seth Rollins. He is also expected to confront CM Punk for eliminating him from the Royal Rumble match. Reports have confirmed that WWE is planning a Triple Threat match between Reigns, Rollins, and Punk at WrestleMania 41.
