WWE NXT Women’s Champion Giulia is currently dealing with a hand injury just days before her highly anticipated title vs. title match against Stephanie Vaquer at NXT Roadblock.
On the latest episode of WWE NXT, Stephanie Vaquer defended the Women’s North American Championship against Karmen Petrovic. Petrovic secured her opportunity last week by defeating Jaida Parker and Kelani Jordan. She fought hard to capture the title, but Vaquer ultimately retained it.
After the match, as Vaquer celebrated her victory, Giulia interrupted her. The NXT Women’s Champion walked to the ring, congratulated Vaquer, and then issued a bold challenge. She told Vaquer that while she claims to be the best champion, she isn’t.
She then proposed that they settle the debate in a champion vs. champion match. Vaquer, acknowledging their friendship, accepted the challenge, agreeing to a title-for-title showdown at NXT Roadblock on 11th March in New York.
After WWE officially announced the match, Bryan Alvarez revealed on Wrestling Observer Live that one of the competitors was dealing with an injury. He stated, “Without spoiling it, because if I spoil it I spoil the match, one of these women is banged up, needs time off. And so they’re doing the match and then she’s taking time off.
