WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther will battle Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41 this April in Las Vegas. Earlier this month, Jey Uso stunned the world by winning the Men’s Royal Rumble Match at Royal Rumble 2025.
After Jey Uso’s biggest career victory, Gunther immediately confronted him. The champion dismissed Jey Uso as an unworthy challenger before he could even announce his chosen opponent for WrestleMania 41.
Gunther argued that facing legends like John Cena, CM Punk, or Roman Reigns would have elevated his legacy. He made it clear that he had no interest in defending his title against Uso at WrestleMania 41.
However, on the February 10 episode of WWE Raw, tensions exploded as Jey Uso and Gunther brawled in the arena. Frustrated by The Ring General’s constant disrespect, Jey officially challenged him for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41.
With their showdown still months away, Gunther has now made a shocking and bold claim about the Men’s Royal Rumble winner.
Gunther claims he will end Jey Uso’s career at WWE WrestleMania 41
On WWE RAW, Gunther confidently asserted that he would retain his World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41. He then introduced Akira Tozawa as his opponent, criticizing him for playing to the fans like Jey Uso.
Gunther challenged Tozawa to prove himself, but The Ring General quickly dominated and secured an easy victory. After the match, Gunther continued his assault on Tozawa until Otis stepped in. He briefly retreated before locking Otis in a sleeper hold.
However, Jey rushed to the ring to support his allies, forcing Gunther to retreat. After their confrontation, the champion delivered a harsh message, making it clear that Tozawa suffered for his actions today just as Jey will at WrestleMania 41. He stated, “The greatest mistake he’s ever made in his career is gonna end at WrestleMania.”
