One-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Naomi, is eyeing a dream match against former Divas Champion AJ Lee. Naomi, who has cemented her legacy as a veteran in the locker room, recently spoke about wanting to face AJ Lee once again.
AJ Lee retired in 2015 and has since focused on various personal projects. Her last WWE match took place on the March 30, 2015, episode of RAW, where she teamed up with Naomi and Paige to defeat Natalya and The Bella Twins. However, ever since CM Punk returned to WWE in 2023, speculation about Lee’s potential comeback has intensified.
Many of today’s top female wrestlers continue to call for AJ Lee’s return. Superstars like Liv Morgan, Bayley, and Cora Jade have all expressed their eagerness to face her in the ring. Now, Naomi has joined that list. Having already enjoyed a successful career and shared the ring with Lee multiple times, Naomi remains eager for another showdown.
Even after nearly a decade, rumors about AJ Lee’s return refuse to die down. Naomi revealed that she doesn’t plan to retire from WWE until Lee makes her comeback, allowing them to face off one more time.

While speaking on The Wrestling Classic, Naomi shared that she has repeatedly urged CM Punk to convince AJ Lee to return. She stated, “You[CM Punk] need to tell her I can’t retire until she comes back. Girl, you need to come on because Mama’s back is hurting. My back is hurting.”
She continued, “I can’t retire until she’s back … It’s crazy, for her to be gone over a decade and to still be missed, and to still be wanted so bad, I think speaks volumes and just tells you what she did for women’s wrestling and who she was. So, I think it’d be a treat, a present, a reward for all of us, having her come back, even if it’s just a ‘Hey’ and ‘Bye.'” [H/T: Postwrestling]
