Michael Cole Reacts to Corey Graves’ Frustrated Tweets Over WWE NXT Move

WWE veteran commentator Michael Cole recently shared his thoughts on Corey Graves’ frustration over being moved to NXT. In January, WWE RAW transitioned to Netflix, bringing major changes to the show’s presentation.

WWE also revamped its commentary teams across RAW, SmackDown, and NXT. Previously, Corey Graves worked on SmackDown alongside Michael Cole, while Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett covered RAW, and Vic Joseph and Booker T handled NXT commentary.

The shake-up led to a major commentary team shuffle. Pat McAfee returned to RAW, joining Michael Cole, while Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett moved to SmackDown. Meanwhile, WWE reassigned Corey Graves to NXT, where he joined Vic Joseph and Booker T on the commentary team.

Following the switch, Graves expressed his frustration over the changes, creating a buzz within WWE. However, he eventually embraced his new role in NXT. Addressing the situation, he stated: “I am right where I want to be, where passion is everything. Only the hungry survive, and pro wrestling never stopped being cool.”

Having worked alongside Michael Cole for years, Graves became a key figure in the commentary team. Recently, Cole weighed in on the situation and shared his perspective on Graves’ move to NXT and his frustration over the transition.

Michael Cole’s take on Corey Graves’ WWE NXT move drama

Michael Cole recently appeared on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, where Paul asked him about Corey Graves’ situation. Cole explained that Graves’ comments were meant to generate interest and build a storyline, though WWE may not have perceived it that way.

He stated, “That’s a strange situation. I love Corey—love him to death. I still don’t understand all the dynamics of it. I know that he said something on social media that was pretty critical of the company. He tried to explain to everyone that he was trying to generate some interest and maybe hype up a storyline.”

He continued, “I don’t think the company saw it that way. I think he and the company are working that out. I love Corey to death. He is an unbelievable commentator. Beside [Pat] McAfee, he is probably the best partner I’ve ever had.” [H/T: eWrestlingNews]

While Corey Graves’ situation made headlines, Cole also praised him as one of the best commentators he has ever worked with, second only to Pat McAfee.
