The Undertaker Shares What Has Changed in CM Punk Since His WWE Return

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker recently shared his thoughts on the changes he’s noticed in CM Punk since his return to WWE. The two, who share a long history of legendary matches, have had their fair share of interactions over the years.

CM Punk made his long-awaited return at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 25, 2023. After leaving WWE in 2014 due to creative differences and health concerns, Punk decided to put aside past issues and return after nearly a decade away.

However, CM Punk’s return sparked a mix of emotions, given his history of backstage tensions in WWE. During his first WWE run, he often clashed with management and fellow superstars.

Since making his return, CM Punk has shown a new attitude backstage in WWE. From mentoring rising talent to burying the hatchet with WWE superstars like Triple H and The Miz, Punk has worked to mend relationships with those he had issues with in the past.

However, according to The Undertaker, this isn’t the same CM Punk from a decade ago. Recently, the WWE Hall of Famer praised Punk, stating that he has noticed significant changes in the Straight Edge Superstar since his return.

The Undertaker reflects on CM Punk’s growth in WWE: “It’s like a different guy”

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio with Bully Ray, The Undertaker was asked about CM Punk’s growth. Ray expressed his belief that Punk has matured, and The Undertaker was then asked if he had noticed this maturity in Punk.

He stated, “Absolutely, he’s mature. He’s actually very pleasant to be around. Yeah, no, no. I mean, before he left the first time, he was very aloof. You know, a lot of times, aloof. He could be somewhat combative, and, again, one of those guys who wants to fight for every hill, but not always in a good way.”

He continued, “But my experiences with him since he’s come back have been different. He’s so personable and engaging, it’s like a different guy. It’s like a weight, I guess, has been lifted off of him. I don’t know his personal struggles or anything like that, and that’s not my deal.”

The Undertaker also mentioned that with CM Punk’s experiences, he now has an opportunity to connect with the current talent. If Punk chooses to mentor others, it would create a valuable opportunity for up-and-coming wrestlers to learn from him.
