Major Details Emerge on Ricky Starks, Miro & Malakai Black’s AEW Releases

Recent reports confirm that AEW has released several stars, including Ricky Starks, Miro, and Malakai Black. These wrestlers have been absent from AEW for a long time. Miro has not been seen in AEW since defeating Andrade at Worlds End in December 2023.

AEW has also kept Ricky Starks off television for almost eleven months. He has not wrestled since the March 30th episode of AEW Collision. However, he has recently been making appearances at multiple independent shows.

The recent events in the promotion have also indicated that Malakai Black is done with AEW. He was quietly removed from his faction, House of Black. The faction was rebranded as The Hounds of Hell, consisting of Brody King, Buddy Matthews, and Julia Hart.

Amid these developments, recent reports have shed light on Ricky Starks, Miro, and Malakai Black being removed from All Elite Wrestling’s official roster page.

Reports on Ricky Starks, Miro & Malakai Black’s exit from AEW

Fightful Select reports behind paywall reports that Miro, Malakai Black, and Ricky Starks are now free to wrestle anywhere. None of the stars are bound by a 90-day non-compete clause. AEW removed all three from its roster page earlier this week.

Reports suggest that Malakai Black had signed a deal that would have kept him in AEW until 2027. However, updates indicate that Black has parted ways with Tony Khan’s promotion. Speculation is growing that he may return to WWE, where his wife, Zelina Vega, currently works.

A few weeks ago, a report claimed that WWE is already working on creative plans for Black’s return. As for Miro, he is reportedly healthy and cleared for in-ring competition but has not been factored into AEW’s creative plans.

Miro’s contract was initially set to run through 2026. However, he requested his release in late 2024, and AEW has now granted it. PWInsider has reported that Ricky Starks is “100% free and clear to go anywhere else he wishes to perform.”

It will be interesting to see what’s next for these stars, as Ricky Starks and Malakai Black are heavily speculated to join WWE. Meanwhile, Miro’s future remains uncertain, and it will be interesting to see where he goes after getting his release.
