Entering the match at the 16th spot, Reigns eliminated Bron Breakker, Sheamus, The Miz, and Joe Hendry, securing his spot in the final six. When Reigns faced off with his Shield brother Seth Rollins, Rollins took the opportunity to attack Reigns.
Both Reigns and Rollins tried to eliminate each other, which allowed CM Punk to capitalize and throw both men over the top rope.
