At the WWE RAW Netflix premiere on January 6, 2025, fans witnessed an iconic moment between The Undertaker and Rhea Ripley. The show, held at the Inuit Dome in Los Angeles, featured a Women’s World Title match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley.
Rhea Ripley defeated Liv Morgan to capture the WWE Women’s World Title. After the match, Ripley celebrated her victory but soon faced her ex-boyfriend, Dominik Mysterio, who entered the ring, seemingly ready to attack her.
However, Dominik Mysterio opened his arms for a hug, and Rhea Ripley appeared to go along with it. Instead, she kicked him and hit her signature move, Riptide. After taking down her ex, Ripley shared a moment with WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker on the entrance ramp, where they posed together.
While the segment between The Undertaker and Rhea Ripley was special for the show, The Deadman recently admitted that he almost turned it down at the WWE RAW Netflix premiere.
The Undertaker almost turned down the segment with Rhea Ripley on WWE RAW
On the Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway podcast, The Undertaker explained that he was initially hesitant to appear in the way he did. He stated, “Originally I was going to do an entrance and an interview, which would have been fine. I think they had someone set to interview me, but then they thought it would make the whole thing even bigger for her[Rhea Ripley] —just, I guess, the rub.”
He continued, “When they told me at first, I was like, ‘Uh, I don’t think so, ‘Dude, that’s her moment, I don’t want step on any part of that.’ I mean, this is the payoff to a very long storyline. I sure don’t want to come out and step on her moment. They basically explained that she was going to have a moment in the ring. She’s going to have this moment where you two will, cross paths. And I was like, ‘Okay, well now, okay, if it’s like that, you know, like, then it’s pretty cool.”
Not only did The Undertaker share a moment with Rhea Ripley, but they also both made the iconic pose of raising their hands following her match.
