Corey Graves returned to the WWE NXT commentary team on the latest episode, following days of buzz and speculation. At WWE NXT New Year’s Evil, Graves was officially introduced as the third member of the commentary team, joining Vic Joseph and Booker T.
WWE made these changes as part of its new partnership with Netflix, which affected all three major shows. Graves previously worked on SmackDown with Michael Cole, while Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett covered RAW, and Vic Joseph and Booker T handled NXT.
Before Netflix’s debut, WWE reorganized its commentary teams. Pat McAfee returned to RAW alongside Michael Cole, Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett moved to SmackDown, and Graves joined NXT with Vic Joseph and Booker T.
However, Graves was not happy with the move and publicly expressed his frustration. He was not even present on last week’s NXT episode. Following this, questions were raised about his future in WWE. However, reports revealed that Graves still has two years left on his contract, and WWE remains committed to him despite the uncertainty.
Before this week’s episode of WWE NXT, Fightful Select reported that Corey Graves would be on commentary. He was scheduled for rehearsals at the WWE performance center. He officially returned on the January 21 episode of NXT. Graves made a bold statement during the show following his return.
“I’m right where I want to be”— Corey Graves on his WWE NXT return
The January 21st edition of WWE NXT opened with Vic Joseph and Booker T handling commentary. Vic Joseph welcomed Corey Graves back to the booth, joking that he wasn’t AI. Graves responded, saying that he was exactly where he wanted to be. He added, “I am right where I want to be, where passion is everything. Only the hungry survive, and pro wrestling never stopped being cool.”
While Graves was frustrated following his shift in the commentary team, it seems his issues have been resolved after his recent statement.
