The Crown Jewel, WWE’s most recent premium live event in Saudi Arabia, took place on November 2, 2024, at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh. Last week, WWE announced an exciting new partnership with Saudi Arabia.
It was confirmed that the WWE Royal Rumble 2026 will take place in Riyadh. This marks the first time the show is taking place outside North America. The partnership between WWE and Saudi Arabia began in 2018, with the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble serving as the impetus.
Over the years, WWE has held two premium live events in the country each year; this includes Crown Jewel in November and another show earlier in the year. However, with the Royal Rumble set for January 2026, this will be the earliest Saudi Arabia show to occur next year.
This shift seems to have caused significant changes to WWE’s 2025 schedule. Reports indicate that the promotion plans to host a major show in Jeddah in 2025. This could be the only WWE event in Saudi Arabia that year, aside from the two annual premium live events the promotion typically hosts.
WWE show scheduled for June 2025 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
According to Fightful Select behind paywall, WWE sources have confirmed that there is only one planned show in Saudi Arabia for 2025. This ends the trend of holding multiple shows annually in the country, except during the COVID-19 pandemic. The next premium live event is scheduled for June this year.
The reports reveal that the show is expected to take place in June in Jeddah. WWE has not held a show in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, since 2019. Back then, the promotion had hosted the Super Showdown in June 2019.
The premium live event took place at King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah. Fans may remember that the show featured the controversial match between The Undertaker and Goldberg. The controversy stemmed from several botched spots during the match, which left a bad impression upon the legends.
