WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg made a notable appearance at Bad Blood 2024, where he clashed verbally with Gunther. The show featured not only Goldberg but also other Hall of Famers, including Booker T, X-Pac, DDP, Arn Anderson, and Tully Blanchard.
At WWE Bad Blood 2024, Triple H introduced a new annual event for the Crown Jewel title. Gunther interrupted the segment, confidently declaring his intent to win the prestigious title. As he stood in the ring, he turned his attention to Goldberg, seated ringside with his family, and began taunting him.
The WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther aimed personal insults at Goldberg, provoking him to jump the barricade in retaliation. The security intervened and quickly restrained him before the situation escalated. Weeks later, Goldberg announced that he would return to WWE in 2025 for his retirement match.
Goldberg’s announcement fueled speculation that his final match might be against the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion. WWE kicked off 2025 with a major partnership with Netflix, creating high expectations for Hall of Famer’s presence on the debut episode last week in Los Angeles.
However, Goldberg and his rumored opponent, Gunther, were noticeably absent from the show. Recent reports have now revealed when fans can expect Goldberg to make his next appearance in the promotion.
Report confirms Goldberg’s WWE return date
According to an exclusive report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Goldberg is scheduled to return to WWE on the January 27th episode of RAW. The show is set to take place in his hometown in Atlanta, Georgia.
While details about his role remain unclear, many speculate that this could kick off his retirement match feud with Gunther. This storyline may ultimately culminate at WWE’s biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 41, set to take place in Las Vegas this April.
