Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who are former WWE Tag Team Champions, now compete on different brands. Owens represents SmackDown, while the latter competes on RAW. Last year, Zayn and Owens headlined WrestleMania 39 alongside The Usos. This historic match marked the first time a tag team bout main-evented WWE’s grandest stage. Zayn and Owens triumphed, capturing the Tag Team Championship and ending The Usos’ record-breaking 622-day title reign.
Later on, WWE moved Owens to SmackDown after Jey Uso joined RAW. Over the past year, Owens turned heel, sparking major changes in his career. His decision to turn came after Cody Rhodes decided to help Roman Reigns in his fight against The New Bloodline.
Owens quickly embraced his villainous side, launching a rampage that included attacking Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes with a piledriver. Despite being banned from WWE, Owens used the dangerous move to target both men, shocking the WWE Universe. Fans eagerly awaited Zayn’s reaction to Owens’ controversial behavior, but it was not until recently that he finally addressed his former partner’s actions, breaking his silence on the matter.
Sami Zayn on Kevin Owens: ‘We’ll deal with it when we get there’
Speaking on the In The Kliq podcast with Baby Huey, Sami Zayn addressed Kevin Owens’ recent comments and the possibility of a confrontation between them. He explained that while he acknowledges Owens’ actions, he doesn’t always agree with them even if he can understand some of his motives.
Zayn also considered the impact of Cody Rhodes’ alliance with Roman Reigns on Owens, suggesting that Owens might view the situation differently compared to his interactions with Roman Reigns. Zayn mentioned he is focused on current challenges with ongoing business involving The Bloodline, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk and isn’t too concerned with Owens.
However, he stated, “I suppose when we cross paths, we’ll have to deal with it when we get there. But, you know, I don’t really know that I did anything to him. So, we’ll just have to see how it goes.”
A few weeks ago, during an interview with Michael Cole, Kevin Owens was asked about Sami Zayn possibly reuniting with Roman Reigns. Owens stated that he would eventually confront Zayn. As it is, it will be exciting to see what unfolds when the WWE former tag team champions finally cross paths.
