Last week on WWE RAW, the tournament’s first match took place, featuring a triple threat between Dakota Kai, Katana Chance, and Shayna Baszler. Kai has now advanced to the semifinals of the tournament.
The latest edition of WWE RAW featured another match with Zelina Vega facing Lyra Valkyria and Ivy Nile. In the final moments of the match, Vega hit a Code Red on Nile, but Valkyria broke the pin and hit the Night Wing on Nile for the win.
Zelina Vega’s surprising loss shocked fans, as she was considered a favorite to win the tournament. A few weeks ago, Vega had also made her intentions clear about becoming the first Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
After the match, Vega sent an apologetic message to her fans, saying “Sorry.” Despite Vega’s disappointment, Dakota Kai, who advanced to the tournament’s semifinals, sent a supportive message to her.
