Former WWE Superstars Bobby Lashley, CJ Perry (Lana), and Miro (Rusev) took part in one of WWE’s most controversial storylines. This storyline revolved around Rusev and Lana’s marriage which featured a shocking twist.
In 2019, Lana engaged in a heated storyline with Bobby Lashley and Rusev. The angle saw her leave Rusev for Lashley, sparking a new love affair between the two. Rusev, Lana’s real-life husband at the time, confronted Lashley multiple times for “stealing” his wife. The drama intensified when WWE added Liv Morgan to the story.
On the infamous December 30, 2019, episode of WWE RAW, Lana and Lashley’s wedding stole the spotlight. However, Morgan interrupted the ceremony, declaring that Lana was the love of her life. The chaos escalated as Morgan and CJ Perry brawled, and Rusev burst out of a giant cake to attack Lashley.
Although WWE never concluded the storyline, they ultimately dropped it, allowing Lashley to focus on his singles career with MVP. However, the storyline had several moments where Lana and Lashley shared intimate scenes, Lashley recently opened up about the storyline. He credited her for making him feel at ease throughout the whole process.
Bobby Lashley praises Lana’s efforts to make the Rusev & Lana storyline work
AEW star Bobby Lashley recently appeared on Insights with Chris Van Vliet, where he discussed the infamous storyline involving himself, Lana, and Rusev. Lashley shared that Lana played a crucial role in making him feel comfortable in the storyline. He admitted that, at times he was focused on the wrestling, while she was directing everything else, from taking pictures to creating specific moments.
He appreciated how she handled the situation and also defended her, acknowledging that while some critics felt she overdid it. However, he found her efforts significantly helpful to all stars involved in the storyline.
Last week, WWE Superstar Liv Morgan shared her thoughts on the storyline and how fully invested she was in it. Although the story never had a conclusive ending, Lashley, Rusev, and Lana eventually left WWE. In the meantime, Morgan remains with the promotion today as one of its top stars.
