Jason Kelce on WWE WrestleMania 40 Appearance: ‘It Actually Does Hurt’

Jason Kelce, the former professional football player, recently shared details about his WWE WrestleMania 40 appearance. Kelce, who announced his retirement from the NFL in March, appeared at WWE WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia.

During the match at WrestleMania 40, Rey Mysterio and Andrade faced Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio. In the final moments, Escobar ordered Dominik to attack Rey with a steel chair. However, two large men in luchador masks intervened, stopping Dominik from striking Rey. This intervention led to Andrade then hitting ‘The Message’ on Dominik, and Rey hit a splash on Escobar, securing the win.

After the match, the two masked men removed their masks to reveal themselves as Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson of the Philadelphia Eagles, receiving a huge ovation from the crowd. Recently, Kelce spoke about how he prepared for his WrestleMania 40 appearance.

Jason Kelce said this about his WWE WrestleMania appearance

Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce recently appeared on The Rich Eisen Show. Kelce talked about his preparation for WWE WrestleMania 40. He shared that when it was announced the event would be held in Philadelphia, he and Lane Johnson began preparations.

Kelce stated, “WrestleMania was a thing, but we never watched it, and I didn’t really know what to expect. It got announced it was coming to Philly and that they wanted Lane and I to be a part of it. I started to get acclimated to what this event is and how big of a deal it is to the wrestling community.”

Elaborating on his regimen, Kelce added, “Then Lane and I went to a couple wrestling gyms in South Jersey. We were literally doing moves and bumps. I learned how to bump; I learned how to clothesline. I learned how to get slapped in the chest and not act like it hurt, because it actually does hurt. It’s like a massive slap to the chest.”

He continued, “That mat, I got to say, it ain’t soft. It is a full-on board. When you see those guys jumping off the top rope Rey-Mysterio-style doing flips and everything, it gives you a whole new [perspective], just tremendous respect for those athletes.”

Jason Kelce certainly enjoyed his appearance at WWE WrestleMania 40. Nevertheless, the NFL star also mentioned that he is not ruling out the possibility of making another appearance in the future.
