Goldberg’s Son Gage Reveals Joining WWE Is His ‘Back up Plan’

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg’s son, Gage, recently discussed the possibility of entering the world of professional wrestling. Goldberg, who made his WWE return in 2016 after a 12-year absence, faced Brock Lesnar in a highly anticipated match.

At WWE Survivor Series 2016, Goldberg shocked fans by defeating Lesnar in under two minutes. This brief stint included Goldberg capturing the WWE Universal Championship and competing at WrestleMania 33.

Although his run was short, Goldberg frequently mentioned that his return to wrestling was motivated by his son, Gage, who wanted to see him in the ring. In 2021, Gage Goldberg became involved in his father’s match against Bobby Lashley at WWE SummerSlam.

Bobby Lashley attacked Gage, taking him out and he didn’t appear on WWE TV again until Bad Blood in October 2023. Goldberg returned to WWE after a nearly year-long absence. At the show, the camera showed Gage in the crowd, and he was called out by Gunther.

Their encounter saw a possible future match between Gunther and Goldberg. Gage has appeared alongside his father multiple times during Goldberg’s latest WWE run. Recently, he spoke about the possibility of following in Goldberg’s footsteps and pursuing a career in professional wrestling.

Goldberg’s son, Gage, recently discussed the possibility of joining WWE in an interview with Sportskeeda. He acknowledged that while wrestling is appealing and offers a lot of excitement, his current focus is on pursuing football.

He stated, “I mean yes and no for sure. Wrestling would be cool and being amped up and everything and having all the adrenaline, but then also I know my place right now is with football. So, I’m gonna live this out, I’ll see where that takes me. If it doesn’t work out, could be wrestling I don’t know. It’s a back-up plan.”

Gage is currently focused on his football career, but he has not ruled out the possibility of pursuing a career in WWE. Only time will tell if he chooses to follow in his father’s footsteps and step into the ring.
