Update on Paul Heyman’s Backstage Presence in WWE

It has been nearly five months since fans last saw WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman on screen. The Wiseman of Roman Reigns was taken out by Solo Sikoa and the new Bloodline.

On the June 28th edition of SmackDown, Solo Sikoa claimed the title of the new Tribal Chief. He ordered the new Bloodline members Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu to acknowledge him. The new members obeyed Sikoa, but Paul Heyman, caught in a difficult position during Roman Reigns‘ absence, refused to follow Sikoa’s command.

This angered Solo Sikoa, who responded by delivering a Samoan Spike and ordering the new Bloodline members to throw Heyman through the announcers’ table. After the brutal attack, Paul Heyman disappeared from TV.

However, last week on WWE SmackDown Roman Reigns tried reaching out to his Wiseman Paul Heyman on the phone. However, Heyman did not answer the call leaving Reigns worried. Despite his absence from television, original Bloodline member Jey Uso provided a major update on Paul Heyman’s backstage role.

Jey Uso confirms Paul Heyman’s backstage involvement in WWE

In a recent interview with Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat, WWE Superstar Jey Uso revealed that Paul Heyman continues to work backstage despite his absence from television. He stated, “The Wiseman is really the Wiseman to my family. He’s been around my family more than 50 years. He is behind the scenes a lot. He does produce, even when he’s not on TV, he’s there.

Considering him as a valuable asset, Jey Uso adds, “I’m glad he’s close to my family, and I’m just glad to have him on our side. He’s a big player to vouch for you and push for you. Any problem we have, we go to him. He makes it happen for my family. We love him.”

Last week, Paul Heyman’s name was mentioned for the first time in a long time. It will be interesting to see if the Wiseman will come with some reinforcements for Roman Reigns at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.
