Many viewers want to know whether Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns changing brands following the grand premiere of WWE RAW on Netflix. Recently, WWE announced the lineup for the highly anticipated debut episode of RAW.
The WWE RAW premiere will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, on January 6, 2025. The official post confirms the appearances of John Cena, Roman Reigns, Bianca Belair, CM Punk, and Cody Rhodes. It was also revealed that rapper and singer Travis Scott will make an appearance. WWE has announced an impressive lineup for their debut show on Netflix.
However, fans are questioning why WWE has advertised Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns for the show, as both are currently on SmackDown. This has sparked speculation that another draft might be on the horizon before RAW moves to Netflix.
A few weeks ago, reports surfaced that Netflix specifically requested Rhodes, Reigns, and CM Punk to appear on RAW. WWE responded by stating that the rosters are still being finalized. However, the latest reports have shed light on Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns’ status following RAW’s premiere on Netflix in January 2025.
Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns expected to stay on WWE SmackDown
Recent reports from PWInsider’s Mike Johnson indicate that Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns will remain on SmackDown. One of the reports states, “No, Roman and Cody are not leaving SmackDown to go to RAW. It is just that it’s all guns blazing and they’re going to do every single thing they can to make that Netflix debut in Los Angeles as important as possible on January 6th.”
However, Cody Rhodes was drafted to SmackDown after defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Interestingly, Reigns was pulled from the 2024 WWE draft by Paul Heyman, though Reigns continued since his return. While there has been no further mention of Reigns being pulled from the draft, this raises the possibility that he could appear on both brands.
