WWE Hall of Famer Edge, now known as Adam Copeland in AEW, is thriving under his real name. Before joining the promotion, he had a highly successful career in WWE.
Copeland, who performed under the name Edge in WWE, competed at the highest levels within the promotion. He had notable matches with legendary figures such as The Undertaker, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Randy Orton, and many others. Copeland cemented his legacy as one of the best in the business.
After his return to wrestling following a nearly decade-long hiatus, WWE decided to have Edge create The Judgment Day. The faction was initially formed at WrestleMania 38, where Damian Priest assisted Edge in his match against AJ Styles. Rhea Ripley joined later, strengthening the faction further.
However, a surprising twist occurred when the faction turned on Edge and welcomed Finn Balor as their new leader. The Judgment Day, which initially featured Edge, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley, has since evolved. Recently, Priest reflected on how Edge helped him as a mentor during their time together in faction.
WWE’s Damian Priest talks about Edge’s mentorship in The Judgment Day
Damian Priest recently reflected on his time in The Judgment Day and credited AEW star Adam Copeland, formerly known as Edge, for his mentorship during their time together. Priest discussed how Edge helped guide him and the other members of the faction. He noted Edge’s influence played a significant role in their success.
He stated, “Edge and I originally talked about The Judgment Day the idea was look, I want to use you and a few others to like put you on the stage you belong, on the platform you belong … I was a fan of Edge, so now I get to have somebody who I looked up to be a mentor and he’s like what do you think?”
Priest further elaborated on how it significantly contributed to the friendship they shared. The Judgment Day member thanked him for “taking me under his wing and just simplifying things for me on how to be a bigger star.”
The original members of The Judgment Day are no longer part of the team. Both Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley have been removed from the faction. Meanwhile, Copeland, now signed with AEW, is in the process of recovering from a broken foot injury he sustained in May.
