A recent report reveals that former WWE CEO Vince McMahon is gearing up to launch a new company. McMahon’s career took a downturn in the world of professional wrestling in 2022 when he abruptly retired as WWE’s chairman amid a scandal involving hush money payments.
Despite stepping down, he returned to the promotion in 2023. However, his comeback was short-lived, ending in early 2024 after former employee Janel Grant accused him of sexual misconduct. This lawsuit forced McMahon to step away from the board and sell his remaining WWE shares. Following his exit, Triple H took over the role of WWE’s Chief Content Officer, bringing major changes to the promotion’s product and achieving significant success in the past few years.
Vince McMahon has kept his distance from the promotion in recent months. Recently, his Netflix docuseries, Mr. McMahon, premiered last month. The series explores the rise and fall in his career during his tenure at the promotion. Following the series, McMahon is once again making headlines. This time with news of his upcoming company, reportedly involving several former WWE employees in the project.
Former WWE employees teaming up with Vince McMahon on new company
According to the latest reports from PWInsider, Vince McMahon is preparing to launch a new company described as an “entertainment hub.” The new company will reportedly develop and produce film and television projects.
However, the reports clarify that this company will not resemble WWE in any way. Instead, the new company will focus on both fiction and non-fiction content. Several former WWE employees are reportedly involved in getting the project ready.
Former WWE Chief Operating Officer Brad Blum is confirmed to be part of the team. Blum, a longtime McMahon loyalist, resigned in May after McMahon’s departure earlier this year. Additionally, WWE’s former Hollywood liaison and Senior Vice President of Entertainment Relations Kristen Prouty is contributing to the team.
The plan to unveil the new company will happen “if and when” McMahon’s legal issues are settled. With McMahon bringing in his trusted team, there is much to see in what he has in store for this new company.
