Former AEW Trios Champion Jay White, who made his return a few weeks ago, faced Adam Page at WrestleDream 2024 this past weekend. White, who had set his sights on Page, secured a win against the former AEW World Champion at WrestleDream 2024.
Back in July, White faced Page in the semifinals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. While the latter secured a win against his opponent, the match had a shocking moment when Christian Cage interfered. With the referee knocked out, Cage speared White, costing him his match against Page and the Owen Hart Foundation Cup.
As a result of Cage’s interference, Page pinned White. Afterward, reports confirmed White had sustained a legitimate foot injury during the match, forcing his faction — Bang Bang Gang — to vacate their AEW Trios Championship. The Trios titles were captured by none other than Christian Cage’s faction, The Patriarchy.
White remained sidelined for over two months due to the injury. However, on October 2, he returned to AEW Dynamite and helped Juice Robinson against Adam Page. This marked White’s first appearance on AEW programming since his Owen Hart Tournament loss to Page. With his return, White immediately sought revenge. He defeated Page at AEW WrestleDream 2024, and now he is setting his sights on Cage — the man who cost him the Owen Hart Tournament.
Jay White to clash with Christian Cage on AEW Dynamite
AEW President Tony Khan announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Jay White will face Christian Cage on the upcoming edition of AEW Dynamite. The show is set to take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
While promoting the match, Tony Khan mentioned that Jay White is seeking revenge on Christian Cage for costing him the Owen Hart Foundation Cup. A victory over Cage could not only bring White the payback he desires. It may also set up a future showdown for the AEW Trios Championship. White’s faction — the Bang Bang Gang — was forced to vacate the titles due to his injury. Now, it will be interesting to see what action unfolds on Dynamite.
