Former WWE Superstar MVP’s Contract Status Following AEW Debut

MVP, a former WWE Superstar, made a highly anticipated debut on AEW Dynamite after leaving WWE. He parted ways with the promotion when his contract expired in August. MVP left alongside his former The Hurt Business member, Bobby Lashley.

Both stars exited WWE last month without reaching an agreement to extend their contracts. After their departure, reports surfaced that Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin aimed to reunite The Hurt Business in AEW.

Many fans speculated that the newly reformed Hurt Business might make a splash at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. However, the special edition of the event showcased MVP’s debut in a surprising manner. During the show, MVP confronted Prince Nana, but he did so alone, which caught many fans off guard.

During the Dynamite: Grand Slam, Tony Schiavone conducted an interview on the entrance ramp. Schiavone was seeking an update from Prince Nana about Swerve Strickland. Nana explained that Strickland was not medically cleared to compete but is working on his return. However, surprisingly, former WWE Superstar MVP interrupted him.

MVP criticized Nana for failing as Strickland’s manager, claiming he was too preoccupied with dancing. He then handed Nana a business card and urged him to pass it on to Strickland, suggesting they could “talk business” when Strickland was ready.

While fans were surprised by MVP’s debut, many speculated that Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin made an appearance alongside him. Amidst this, reports began to emerge regarding his status with AEW following his debut.

MVP has reportedly signed with AEW

Following the shocking debut of MVP on the special edition of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, PWInsider reports that he has signed with AEW. The report indicates that both sides reached a deal about a month ago.

While MVP made his anticipated debut, it will be interesting to see when the remaining members of The Hurt Business, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, will join the promotion. Reports emerged a few weeks ago indicating that AEW was also in talks with Lashley and Benjamin. It will be interesting to see the promotion’s plans involving the former WWE star and Swerve Strickland.
