Kurt Angle, an iconic figure and a multiple-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, may be considering coming back to the promotion. Angle made his debut in the promotion in 1999, and his charisma instantly captured the attention of fans. In the early 2000s, he became one of the top stars in WWE.
His rivalry with Triple H, The Rock, and Stone Cold helped solidify him as a main-event star in the promotion. Moreover, his in-ring skills were among the best on the roster, and his comedic timing is still talked about to this day. While Angle had made a huge name for himself, in 2006, he decided to leave the WWE. He then made his way into TNA where he found major success.
In 2017, after an 11-year absence, Kurt Angle made his much-anticipated return to WWE. He was announced as the headliner of that year’s WWE Hall of Fame class. During his second run in the promotion, he returned as the General Manager of WWE RAW. However, he wasn’t just in a non-wrestling role, he performed in several matches.
In 2019, at WrestleMania 35, he had his final match against Baron Corbin, where he lost. Since his retirement, there has always been speculation about a return. Recently, Angle opened up about returning to WWE, stating that he is interested in coming back in a managerial role.
Kurt Angle open to a WWE return as a manager
WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently discussed the possibility of returning as a manager for Chad Gable and his new faction, American Made. During an appearance at K&S WrestleFest, Angle mentioned that if the financial terms were right, managing Gable and his faction would be a fantastic idea.
“I got approached by WWE when Matt Riddle started and they wanted me to manage him but the offer was just … it wasn’t worth it,” he continued. “Unfortunately, you know, I love the business but you also have to be a businessman and you have to make the right decisions for your family.”
Chad Gable was recently left by his Alpha Academy faction. He has since formed a new group called American Made, alongside The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile. Fans have frequently expressed interest in seeing Kurt Angle return to manage Gable. Now, it will be interesting to see if WWE has any plans in that direction.
