Is Jacob Fatu’s WWE Push Happening Too Soon?

WWE Superstar and new addition to The Bloodline, Jacob Fatu, has made a huge splash in the promotion. On the June 21st edition of WWE SmackDown, Fatu emerged, launching a brutal assault on Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens.

On his first night, he executed a devastating Samoan Drop on Kevin Owens onto the steel steps, followed by a powerful spear that sent Randy Orton crashing into the barricades. He capped off his night with a diving headbutt that put Cody Rhodes through the announce table.

Fatu’s addition has injected considerable strength into The Bloodline. His involvement not only bolsters the faction but also helped Solo Sikoa pin WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes at Money in the Bank. With Fatu, the Samoan Werewolf has made a major mark on the WWE roster, even assisting The Bloodline in winning the tag team titles.

Although he later relinquished the title to Tonga Loa, Fatu’s future in WWE looks promising. However, given the heavy push he has received since his debut especially when he single-handedly took out Roman Reigns, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi feels that the promotion may be rushing his rise too quickly.

Rikishi believes WWE is pushing Jacob Fatu too fast

Rikishi expressed his concerns on the “Off The Top” podcast regarding the rapid push of Jacob Fatu in WWE. He mentioned that after facing someone like Cody Rhodes, it would become challenging for Fatu for the next step as Rhodes is currently a top star in the WWE.

He then added, “I’ve said this before, let Jacob rampage through the whole roster. Give him a couple those enhancement matches to build. He don’t need but three minutes. Again, we’ve seen Jacob however long he’s been on, a couple months or whatever, but is there anything different? You can only do so much on a run-in. This is what I’m saying.”

Rikishi further opined, “You really want to go with a guy? Show his talent, let him have not a match-match, [but] a squash match just so he can show his potential of what else this kid can do. I wouldn’t feed Jacob to Cody. That match is not deserving yet to happen.”

Jacob Fatu is scheduled for a high-stakes match at WWE Bad Blood, where he will team up with Solo Sikoa to face the formidable duo of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. The big question heading into this showdown is which superstar will ultimately take the pinfall.
