Rhea Ripley Reacts to Dominik Mysterio’s Family Drama

Former WWE Women’s World Heavyweight Champion Rhea Ripley recently addressed her ex-boyfriend Dominik Mysterio’s family issues. Their on-screen relationship began in 2022 at WWE Clash at the Castle when Dominik betrayed his father and joined The Judgment Day. Since then, he has embraced a villainous role.

Dominik Mysterio’s singles career has thrived without his father, and his on-screen chemistry with Rhea Ripley has also captivated fans. Ripley played a key role in Dominik’s transition to a more aggressive persona, guiding him through a major heel turn and distancing him from his father, Rey Mysterio. Moreover, Ripley’s influence was major in showcasing Dirty Dom’s struggles with his family.

However, Dominik Mysterio, who had already betrayed his family, did the same to Rhea Ripley at WWE SummerSlam. She was stunned and heartbroken when Dominik sided with Liv Morgan, her rival. Now, Ripley and Mysterio are at odds following this betrayal, and the former has recently opened up about Dominik’s family issues.

Rhea Ripley speaks out on Dominik Mysterio’s family drama

During a recent interview with The Wrestling Classic, Rhea Ripley recently discussed Dominik Mysterio’s ongoing issues related to his family and WWE legend Rey Mysterio. Ripley mentioned how Dirty Dom’s desire to escape his father’s shadow has fueled his family issues.

She said, “You can tell a man has daddy issues when he gets so excited about being called ‘daddy.’ He’s just got family issues, let’s be honest. Because now he’s saying that I made him call me ‘mami,’ and he never liked calling me ‘mami.’ Like, you got problems, my dude, because you came up with that by yourself.”

Furthermore, Ripley also talked about his ex-boyfriend’s struggle to step out of Rey Mysterio’s shadow, noting Rey’s preference for Edge back in 2022. She stated, “Dom had to get out of Rey’s shadow. Rey was picking Edge over his own son … I do think that Rey was in the wrong. But at the same time, I think that Dom has hurt me in a bigger way than Rey ever hurt me. So he’s more in my good books than Dom is right now.”

Since WWE SummerSlam, Rhea Ripley has kicked out from The Judgment Day and her Terror Twin partner Damian Priest has also faced a similar fate after being targeted by Finn Balor. Amid this, Rhea Ripley will have a chance to reclaim the WWE Women’s World Championship at WWE Bad Blood next month. Additionally, Priest will face Balor in a match at the same event.
