AEW commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross voiced his displeasure over the recent leak of a WWE RAW photo. Although professional wrestling scripts its events extensively, social media has exposed many details. Fans now access more backstage news than before.
Sometimes, wrestlers frequently learn about developments through social media. Despite the scripted nature of these programs, WWE, AEW, NJPW, and TNA have successfully kept wrestler rehearsals confidential. However, before the WWE Bash in Berlin, a photo leaked online that stirred up fan discussion by potentially revealing too much.
The image showed several WWE Superstars at ringside before an episode of WWE RAW, discussing rehearsing for the show. Such photos should ideally stay private, but this one has undermined the kayfabe that fans expect. The photo leak also led to a huge backlash from the fans. Amid the controversy, AEW commentator Jim Ross has voiced his dissatisfaction with the situation.
Jim Ross blasts WWE RAW photo leaker as “unprofessional”
AEW commentator Jim Ross, a veteran in the business, is known for his commentary from the Attitude Era. Ross has established himself as one of the greatest commentators of all time. While he is primarily recognized for his commentary during his time in WWE, he also served as Executive Vice President of Talent Relations for the WWF/WWE. This role was an official extension of his long-time backstage duties, where he was a key figure in hiring new talent.
On his podcast, Jim Ross criticized the individual responsible for leaking the photo, highlighting the damage it has done to the business. He expressed strong opinions on the matter, suggesting that the person who leaked the image should be fired.
He stated, “Somebody’s a chicken s**t quite frankly. It’s just unprofessional and has no place. Whoever did it should be fired, simple as that. Shouldn’t go to HR, just say, ‘Look, we’re done. You broke a rule that is important to maintain.'”
“But that picture is very revealing, it tells multiple stories, and so in that respect, it’s unique as you can see all the talents hanging around. That’s kind of a typical thing, everybody’s going through their paces, talking, trying to get their timing together, all those things … so it’s daunting. I don’t like it, I don’t like when things like that happen,” Ross concluded.
The photo in question captured WWE’s current rivals Randy Orton and Gunther engaged in conversation. It also showed The Wyatt Six sitting in the front row and being out of character.
