MVP Shares Major Update on His WWE Future

Former WWE United States Champion MVP has been in the news with his former The Hurt Business partner, Bobby Lashley, since last week. Reports surfaced last week suggesting that both Lashley and MVP plan to leave WWE once their contracts expire.

Neither Lashley nor MVP has appeared regularly on WWE television in recent months. MVP’s last on-screen role was managing Omos, who has made limited appearances in 2024. On the other hand, Lashley’s most recent match was a number-one contender match against LA Knight and Santos Escobar following WrestleMania 40.

Furthermore, in May, WWE originally announced Bobby Lashley as a participant in the 2024 King of the Ring Tournament. However, just days before the qualifiers, he was pulled from the tournament due to Lashley being unable to compete.

Recently, reports suggested that both Bobby Lashley and MVP have been removed from WWE’s internal roster. This move strongly indicates that both are expected to leave the promotion once their contracts expire.

While Bobby Lashley has maintained silence about his future, MVP has made waves. He recently made a surprise appearance at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XI and announced a significant development regarding his WWE career.

MVP reveals WWE contract is ending & he won’t return

Josh Barnett successfully defeated Bad Dude Tito in a singles match at Bloodsport XI. As Barnett celebrated his victory in the ring, MVP made a surprise appearance.

Barnett grabbed a microphone and demanded to know what MVP wanted. MVP revealed their long-standing friendship and history. He then made a shocking announcement that his contract with an unnamed company (WWE) was ending and he wouldn’t be returning. Emphasizing his desire to continue wrestling, he challenged Barnett to a Bloodsport match, which Barnett eagerly accepted.

Adding to the excitement, Barnett teased the potential involvement of former member of The Hurt Business, Bobby Lashley. The two wrestlers shook hands for the match. It’ll be interesting to see if this tease becomes a reality and if Lashley joins the former United States Champion in this new chapter.
