What Are Becky Lynch’s Plans Post-WWE Contract Expiry?

Former Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch has yet to sign a new contract with the WWE, and her current contract is set to expire in a few days. Reports indicate that WWE and Becky Lynch haven’t reached an agreement for a new deal. With her contract expiring on June 1st, it is clear that she hasn’t re-signed yet.

Fans are wondering what’s next for the former Women’s World Champion if she becomes a free agent. Many are speculating whether she is considering a move to the competition, like AEW. However, this doesn’t appear to be the case, and reports have confirmed that Lynch won’t be going anywhere.

According to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Lynch is set to take time off from WWE. Her husband, Seth Rollins, is also currently off the road. Meltzer stated that it makes no sense for her to be on the road. He stated, “She’s taking an extended leave, that’s what I was told. It’s not for a short period of time. It’s for a long period of time. If he’s [Seth Rollins] not on the road, it makes since for her not to be on the road. They can’t be hurting for money right now, like they need it now.”

Becky Lynch isn’t considering joining a rival promotion. However, AEW star Chris Jericho recently weighed in on the topic. Jericho mentioned that Lynch is unlikely to come to AEW. Nonetheless, he highlighted that the promotion’s presence has provided wrestlers with options that haven’t been available in the industry for a long time.

Becky Lynch lost her final match under current WWE contract

At WWE King & Queen of the Ring, Becky Lynch lost her Women’s World title to Liv Morgan. She promptly invoked her rematch on the latest edition of WWE RAW on May 27th. However, due to interference from Dominik Mysterio, Becky Lynch once again lost her chance to reclaim the title.

Becky Lynch’s loss against Liv Morgan marks her last match on her current contract, which is set to expire on June 1st. With her taking time off from WWE, fans anticipate not seeing her on their screens anytime soon.
