The latest edition of WWE RAW featured the qualifiers for the first round of the King of the Ring tournament. Gunther, who participated in the tournament, faced his rival Sheamus in the main event.
The hard-hitting match saw Gunther dominating over Sheamus. The General Ring won via submission when he applied a half crab to Sheamus. Following his massive win over The Celtic Warrior, the former WWE Intercontinental champion sent a message to the rest of the competitors in the tournament.
Gunther has advanced to the second round of the tournament and is scheduled to face the winner of the upcoming Rey Mysterio vs. Kofi Kingston WWE RAW. This match is set to take place this weekend at the WWE live event. Jey Uso and Ilja Dragunov have also advanced to the second round. They will face each other on the next edition of WWE RAW.
Gunther could face a huge challenge in WWE’s King of the Ring tournament

During Jey Uso’s first match on WWE RAW, Drew McIntyre tried to distract him, but Jey still managed to win the game. McIntyre, who appeared visibly unhappy, could potentially interfere in Jey Uso’s match next week against Ilja Dragunov. If Dragunov and Gunther both manage to defeat their opponents, the former NXT stars could face each other in the semifinals. NXT fans are well aware of their rivalry, as Dragunov was the first star to defeat Gunther in WWE.
