Is John Cena Retiring from WWE?

The speculation surrounding John Cena’s future in the WWE has reached a fever pitch, with the wrestler eyeing for retirement. Cena, a 16-time world champion, has recently shed some light on his in-ring future. This sparked conversations about what lies ahead for his future in the ring.

In a recent appearance on the Kelly Clarkson Show, Cena hinted at his retirement plans. This indicated that he had a definitive timeline in mind. He candidly shared his perspective: “You know what, 50 is my absolute line in the sand. I would like to try and do it before that, but at 50, I’m just gonna tweet out, ‘Peace out, see ya.’ That’s it, I’m good. I was very much driven where WWE was my passion 24/7 and I’m very grateful but I’ve grown and there’s a lot of other avenues I’m curious about in life, being a great husband and partner is one of those. I just want to try do what I can in those (years).”

Cena, 46 years old, with his 47th birthday approaching in April, expressed a clear intention not to wrestle beyond 50. While WWE has been a significant part of his life, he now looks to explore other avenues. With WrestleMania 40 approaching, there are still no official plans for Cena. However, WWE is reportedly pushing for John Cena’s involvement at WrestleMania 40.

Where does John Cena want his last match in WWE?

John Cena bid an emotional goodbye to the WWE universe after his recent loss against Solo Sikoa at WWE Crown Jewel 2023. Cena revealed in an interview that he wants to end his wrestling career.

In an interview on BBC’s The One Show, Cena shared his thoughts on where he’d like his last match. He said, “Fans in the UK, WWE fans, they’re the best & fans in London specifically they will let you know how they feel & I don’t think I’ll be able to choose my opponent but if I could choose a venue it’d be the O2 in London.”

Cena’s fondness for the UK fans and the exciting atmosphere of the O2 Arena came through as he talked about his experiences there. At his last O2 Arena, he had a run-in with Grayson Waller during last year’s Money in the Bank event. It will be interesting to see if Cena does indeed hang up his boots in the O2 Arena in London.
