AEW President Tony Khan has hinted at the impending revelation of the mysterious figure known only as the Devil. Starting in September, the Devil has caused chaos by specifically targeting MJF, leaving a path of destruction wherever they go. The Devil and their associates have assaulted various AEW stars. This includes Jay White, The Acclaimed, Billy Gunn, Hangman Adam Page, and MJF.
Fans and AEW stars have speculated that MJF might be the mysterious figure, i.e., the Devil. This is especially since he was the first to wear the mask at AEW All Out 2022. Following the attack on Jay White, MJF has countered these speculations. He claimed that the Devil mask was stolen from his locker room and someone else has been under the mask.
The ongoing storyline reached a critical point on the recent December 27th episode of Dynamite. During the event, MJF lost the ROH Tag Team Titles to two masked associates of the Devil. The chaos continued as Samoa Joe rushed to MJF’s aid, only to turn on him brutally after a cryptic message flashed on the big screen.
Speaking on the media call ahead of AEW Worlds Ends, Khan assured fans that the identity of the Devil is on the verge of being unveiled and denied that Samoa Joe is actually the Devil. He stated, “It feels like we’re getting close to finding out who The Devil is. I expect some big revelations and big moments at Worlds End. The secrets will be revealed, and I’m looking forward to it. It’s been very different from the rest of AEW this year, and I’ve been very excited about it.”
He continued, “People who want to see that kind of episodic storytelling, and the identity of the Devil, and finding out that Samoa Joe is working with The Devil, added a whole new layer to it, especially heading into this match. Very excited for this match.”
Despite the ongoing chaos, it appears that the conclusion of this gripping storyline is approaching. This becomes even more evident after AEW President Tony Khan’s recent statement.
Is AEW star Adam Cole the Devil?
Adam Cole has been sidelined due to an ankle injury sustained during AEW: Dynamite Grand Slam. Here, MJF secured victory over Samoa for the world title. After the injury, MJF found himself without a tag team partner for the ROH tag team titles, which he and Cole had previously won at All In in Wembley Stadium.
Surprisingly, Adam Cole suggested to MJF that he seek assistance from Samoa Joe to defend the ROH tag team titles. Cole successfully persuaded MJF to offer Joe a rematch at AEW Worlds End, scheduled for this Saturday, December 30, 2023.
While Adam Cole may be associated with the Devil, fans are also considering AEW star Jack Perry’s involvement. The possibility emerged after the attack on Hangman Page onto a car’s glass windscreen.
