Last week on SmackDown, Randy Orton had a heated confrontation with Paul Heyman, which led to Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa attacking The Viper. LA Knight intervened by attacking Solo Sikoa to make the save.
Following the confrontation, Randy Orton sent a message to Roman Reigns, stating, ‘The Daddy’s Home,’ before RKO’ed Jimmy Uso and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. It looks like The Bloodline wants to settle a score with Orton and Knight following last week’s chaos.
Furthermore, WWE is presenting a special edition called SmackDown Tribute to the Troops show, poised to feature a tag team matchup. The bout will see The Bloodline, represented by Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa, facing off against Randy Orton and LA Knight.
The upcoming show is set to highlight numerous high-profile matches, featuring two pivotal bouts from the tournament aimed at determining the contender to face Logan Paul for the United States Championship.
In the first match, Santos Escobar will face Dragon Lee, while the second match will witness Bobby Lashley going against Karrion Kross. The show will further mark the return of CM Punk. Additionally, in a compelling matchup, Charlotte Flair will take on Asuka of Damage CTRL.
Update on Randy Orton’s current WWE contract
Randy Orton, who made his debut in 2002, has achieved milestone after milestone in WWE — from becoming a Grand Slam champion to winning the Royal Rumble twice, establishing himself as a future Hall of Famer. Orton has been with WWE for more than two decades, and it looks like he still has a few years left in his tank, according to the latest reports.
As per Fightful Select’s paywall, Orton, who inked a five-year deal in 2019, might see his tenure extended beyond its initial fall 2024 term. One WWE higher-up noted that they “would be surprised” if the promotion adds “injury time,” potentially prolonging Orton’s contract until 2026.
