Karma Trailer: Squid Game Star Leads New Netflix Thriller Show

Netflix has released the official Karma trailer for its newest South Korean thriller drama led by Squid Game star Park Hae-soo. The series is scheduled to start streaming on April 4, 2025.

For his acclaimed performance as Cho Sang-woo during the first season of the hit survival drama, Park earned an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor. Besides Squid Game and the upcoming Karma series, Park also worked with Netflix on the Korean spin-off series of Money Heist.

What happens in the Karma trailer?

The video introduces six main characters whose lives are suddenly intertwined with one another due to one irreversible moment. Joining Park are Shin Min-a (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha), Lee Hee-jun (Badland Hunters), Kim Sung-kyun (Reply 1988, Moving), Lee Kwang-soo (It’s Okay That’s Love), and Gong Seung-yeon (Six Flying Dragons).

Karma is directed by Lee Il-hyung based on Kakao webtoon of the same name. This marks Lee’s TV directorial debut after previously helming the box office hit movie A Violent Prosecutor. It is a production by Moonlight Film, Baram Pictures, and Kakao Entertainment.

“The story centers around a fateful accident, which intertwines six lives in a tale of karma and crime, where each must face their own dark truths and connections,” reads the official synopsis. “The characters include: a desperate debtor who uncovers a 500 million won insurance policy on his father’s life and begins plotting; a woman who comes face-to-face with the source of her darkest nightmares; and a reckless driver who tries to erase evidence of his crime, only to find himself at the mercy of a witness demanding hush money.”
