The Narrow Road to the Deep North trailer for the upcoming World War II-set miniseries has been revealed, based on Richard Flanagan’s novel of the same name. At the moment, the Australian drama has no official U.S. release date yet, but Sony Pictures Television will be handling its international distribution.
“It is a savagely beautiful five-part series charting the life of Dorrigo Evans, through his passionate love affair with Amy Mulvaney, his time held captive in a POW camp, and his later years spent as a revered surgeon and reluctant war hero,” reads the official logline.

What happens in The Narrow Road to the Deep North trailer?
The video features Jacob Elordi as Dorrigo Evans, a young man who becomes a prisoner of war during the World War II. He was sent to the Burma Death Railway along with other captured soldiers, and were subjected to force labor. The trailer also highlights his life before and after the war, as well his love affair with a married woman.
The Narrow Road to the Deep North is directed and executive produced by Justin Kurzel from a screenplay written by Shaun Grant. The cast also includes Ciarán Hinds as Older Dorrigo Evans, Odessa Young as Amy Mulvaney, Olivia DeJonge as Ella, Heather Mitchell as Older Ella, Thomas Weatherall as Frank Gardiner, Simon Baker as Keith and more. It is executive produced by Jo Porter, Grant, Flanagan, and Rachel Gardner.
Elordi first gained recognition for his role as Noah Flynn in Netflix’s trilogy of romantic comedy films titled The Kissing Booth. His acting breakthrough came when he joined the cast of HBO’s Zendaya-led teen drama Euphoria. He also received critical praise for his back-to-back performances in Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla and Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn. Elordi will next be seen in Guillermo del Toro’s all-star adaptation of Frankenstein and Fennell’s Wuthering Heights movie.
