Apple TV+ has shared the official Dope Thief trailer for its newest crime drama, starring Oscar nominee Brian Tyree Henry as Ray and Golden Globe nominee Wagner Moura as Manny. The series is scheduled to make its debut on March 14, 2025 with first two episodes. It will then be followed by new episodes every Friday through April 25.

What happens in the Dope Thief trailer?
The video features two lifelong friends who scam small-time drug dealers by pretending to be DEA agents. However, things go horribly wrong when they chose the wrong target, who’s determined to make them pay for stealing from him. The cast also includes Marin Ireland as Kristy, Kate Mulgrew as Theresa, Nesta Cooper as Michelle, Amir Arison as Mark, Dustin Nguyen as Ho Dinh and Ving Rhames as Bart.
“The series follows longtime Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern Seaboard,” reads the official synopsis.
Dope Thief is created and executive produced by Peter Craig, based on Dennis Tafoya’s 2009 novel of the same name. The series is executive produced by Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Richard Heus, Henry, Jordan Sheehan, Clayton Krueger and Jennifer Wiley-Moxley, with Scott also directing the first episode. It is a production by Apple Studios and Scott Free.
