Netflix has shared the Toxic Town trailer for the upcoming limited drama, based on the real-life story of one of the UK’s biggest environmental scandals. The miniseries is scheduled to start streaming on February 27, 2025.
“The drama follows the story of the people at the heart of the Corby poisonings. Focusing on the mothers, who took on a David and Goliath battle for justice, the series traces through the years of their fight as a terrible truth comes to the surface,” reads the official synopsis.

What happens in the Toxic Town trailer?
The video features Doctor Who alum Jodie Whittaker as Susan McIntyre, who leads a group of mothers in the fight for justice against Corby Borough Council after finding out that the toxic waste from the reclamation of the steelworks has harmed their children. Besides Whittaker, the cast is also led by Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood as Tracey Taylor, and Bridgerton star Claudia Jessie as Maggie Mahon.
Toxic Town is written and executive produced by Jack Thorne, with Minkie Spiro serving as a director. Additional cast members include Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty), Rory Kinnear (The Diplomat), Stephen McMillan (Boiling Point), Lauren Lyle (Outlander), Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones), Michael Socha (This Is England), Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), Matthew Durkan (Wedding Season), and Karla Crome (Carnival Row). The 4-part miniseries is executive produced by Annabel Jones, Minkie Spiro, Charlie Brooker, and Euros Lyn, with Delyth Scudamore and Patricia Tookey-Dickson serving as producers.
