Prime Video has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming historical drama House of David, set to chronicle the story of the titular biblical figure and his ascent as the celebrated king of Israel.
House of David is created by Jon Erwin (Jesus Revolution) and Jon Gunn (Ordinary Angels). The first three episodes are scheduled to arrive on Prime Video on February 27, with the following episodes arriving weekly. After a four-month international search, the series found its David in Michael Iskander, who most recently starred in the award-winning musical Kimberly Akimbo.
In addition to Iskander, House of David also stars Ali Suliman (Arthur the King) as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer (Angels And Demons) as Queen Ahinoam, Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe) as Samuel, Indy Lewis (Industry) as Mychal, and Martyn Ford (The Sandman) as Goliath.

What is House of David about?
The series will tell the story of David and how he became the king of Israel. It will also chronicle the days leading to his battle with Goliath.
The official synopsis reads: “House of David tells the story of the ascent of the biblical figure, David, who eventually becomes the most renowned and celebrated king of Israel. The series follows the once-mighty King Saul as he falls victim to his own pride. At the direction of God, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, outcast teenager as the new king. As Saul loses his power over his kingdom, David finds himself on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, navigating love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he’s destined to replace. As one leader falls, another must rise.”
Rounding out the cast are Yali Topol Margalith (Tattooist of Auschwitz), Sam Otto (Snowpiercer), Oded Fehr (Star Trek), Louis Ferreira (Shogun), Davood Ghadami (The Chelsea Detective), Ashraf Barhom (Tyrant, The Last Planet), and Alexander Uloom (Sari and Amira).
Based on an idea by Erwin, the upcoming series is produced by Wonder Project, Amazon MGM Studios, Nomadic Pictures, Argonauts, Kingdom Story Company, and Lionsgate Television, with Erwin also serving as the show’s executive producer. Additional executive producers include Gunn, Jonathan Lloyd Walker, Justin Rosenblatt, Chad Oakes, and Mike Frislev.
House of David premieres on February 27 on Prime Video.
