AMC Networks has shared a new Dark Winds Season 3 teaser trailer for the upcoming return of the hit thriller drama starring Zahn McClarnon as Joe Leaphorn. The next installment is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, March 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The video provides viewers with a glimpse of Joe Leaphorn’s next case, which may potentially have a connection with his past. Besides McClarnon, the drama is also led by Kiowa Gordon (The Red Road, Roswell, New Mexico), Jessica Matten (Rez Ball, Tribal, Burden of Truth), and Deanna Allison (Accused, Edge of America).
Dark Winds is created and executive produced by Graham Roland based on Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn & Chee novel series. Season 3 will also feature guest stars Jenna Elfman as FBI Special Agent Sylvia Washington, Bruce Greenwood as Tom Spenser, Raoul Max Trujillo as Budge, Tonantzin Carmelo as Border Patrol Agent Eleanda Garza, Alex Meraz as Border Patrol Agent Ivan Muños, Terry Serpico as Border Patrol Senior Chief Ed Henry, Derek Hinkey as Shorty Bowlegs, Phil Burke as Michael Halsey, and Christopher Heyerdahl as Dr Reynolds. In addition to starring, McClarnon also executive produces along with George R.R. Martin, Robert Redford, Anne Hillerman, Chris Eyre, Vince Gerardis, and Tina Elmo.
“Season 3 picks up six months after the events of season two and follows Lt. Joe Leaphorn (McClarnon) and Jim Chee (Gordon) as they investigate the disappearance of two boys, with only an abandoned bicycle and blood-stained patch of ground left in their wake,” reads the official synopsis. “Meanwhile, Bernadette Manuelito (Matten) attempts to settle into her new life 500 miles from home with the Border Patrol, but stumbles across a conspiracy involving human and drug smuggling with far-reaching implications.”
