The video teases Wyle’s return to the world of medical dramas after over a decade since he was last seen as John Carter in the NBC drama ER, which ran on-air for 15 seasons. After originally portraying a rookie doctor in ER, Wyle will now play a veteran physician who will be in charge of his own Emergency Room. The trailer highlights how Wyle’s character leads his staff and saves patients during an intense 15-hour shift.
The Pitt was created and executive produced by R. Scott Gemmill. The cast includes Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, Tracey Ifeachor as Dr. Collins, Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon, Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Mohan, Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay, Taylor Dearden as Dr. King, Isa Briones as Dr. Santos, Gerran Howell as Whitaker, Shabana Azeez as Javadi, and Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans. In addition to leading the cast, Wyle is also serving as an executive producer.
“The series is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,” reads the official synopsis. “Each episode follows an hour of Dr. Robby’s (Wyle) 15-hour shift as the chief attendant in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital’s emergency room.”
