A Man on the Inside Trailer Previews Ted Danson-Led Netflix Comedy Series

Netflix has released the first official A Man on the Inside trailer, previewing its upcoming comedy series starring Ted Danson.

What happens in the A Man on the Inside trailer?

The series — which was originally known as A Classic Spy before being renamed — stars Danson as Charles, a retired man who “gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a PI and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.” The series is based on Maite Alberdi’s 2020 documentary The Mole Agent, which follows the story of a private investigator who hires a man to go undercover inside a nursing home.

A Man on the Inside is set to premiere on November 21, 2024, when the eight-episode series will arrive on the streaming platform.

The rest of the cast includes Stephen Mckinley Henderson (Dune) as Pacific View Community’s “eyes and ears” Calbert, Sally Struthers (Gilmore Girls) as Virginia, Margaret Avery (The Color Purple) as Virginia’s best friend Florence, John Getz (Social Network) as Elliott, Susan Ruttan (L.A. Law) as Charles’ neighbor Gladys, Lori Tan Chinn (Joy Ride) as Pacific View resident council president Susan, Clyde Kusatsu (Never Have I Ever) as Grant, and Jama Williamson (American Rust) as Pacific View activities director Beatrice.

Created by Mike Schur, A Man on the Inside will follow Charles’ (Danson) quest to make an unexpected late-life career move as he becomes an undercover detective, commonly known as a mole, after he responds to an ad from a private investigator. The comedy series is based on the 2021 Oscar-nominated documentary The Mole Agent.
