Monsters Season 2 Teaser Trailer Shows the Lyle & Erik Menendez Story

Netflix has finally unveiled the teaser trailer for Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, starring Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch as real-life brothers convicted for the murders of their parents.

Set to arrive on the streamer on Thursday, September 19, 2024, the upcoming dramatization of Lyle and Erik Menendez’s crime — also called Monsters Season 2 — serves as a follow-up to 2022’s Evan Peters-led Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story

What happens in the Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story trailer?

The teaser trailer for Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story highlights the members of the Menendez family, whose “picture perfect” life is not as perfect as it appears. It starts with the mother wondering what happened between the father and the boys, with the family patriarch promising to fix their family. It then proceeds to Lyle and Erik realizing they are on their own while drenched in blood.

“While the prosecution argued they were seeking to inherit their family fortune, the brothers claimed — and remain adamant to this day, as they serve life sentences without the possibility of parole — that their actions stemmed out of fear from a lifetime of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse at the hands of their parents,” the synopsis reads.

The series also stars Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny as José and Mary Louise ‘Kitty’ Menendez, respectively. The rest of the cast includes Nathan Lane, Ari Graynor, Leslie Grossman, Dallas Roberts, Paul Adelstein, Jason Butler Harner, Enrique Murciano, Michael Gladis, Drew Powell, Charlie Hall, Gil Ozeri, Jeff Perry, Tessa Auberjonois, Tanner Stine, Larry Clarke, Jade Pettyjohn, and Marlene Forte.

In addition to starring, Bardem also executive produced the series alongside Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, McMillan, Louise Shore, and Carl Franklin. It is written by Murphy, David McMillan, Todd Kubrak, Brennan, and Reilly Smith.

Monsters Season 2 hits Netflix on September 19.
