Rivals Teaser Trailer Previews Hulu Series Starring David Tennant, Aidan Turner

Hulu has unveiled the star-studded teaser trailer for Rivals, an upcoming eight-part television series “full of romantic entanglements, dastardly deals, sex, and wit.” It is based on Jilly Cooper’s celebrated romance novel of the same name.

Rivals, set in 1986, will delve into the world of independent television. And with a series tackling the excess and drama of the TV landscape, Rivals also boasts an ensemble cast of the industry’s huge names, including the likes of David Tennant (Doctor Who) as Lord Tony Baddingham and Aidan Turner (Poldark) as Declan O’Hara.

“Set against the backdrop of the drama, excess, and shocking antics of the power-grabbing social elite of 1980s England, “Rivals” delves headfirst into the ruthless world of independent television in 1986,” the synopsis reads.
