BBC has dropped the official A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder trailer for its upcoming series adaptation of Holly Jackson’s coming-of-age novel starring Wednesday breakout Emma Myers. The series will first make its debut in the U.K. on July 1. At the moment, Netflix has yet to announce the streaming release date for the three-part drama.

The A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder trailer shows Myers channeling her inner Sherlock Holmes, as she finds herself investigating the five-year-old mystery surrounding a young girl’s death. This marks Myers’ first major TV project as the solo lead following her fan-favorite performance in Wednesday Season 1. She’s currently in production for the second installment to the Jenna Ortega-led show, where she’ll reprise teen werewolf Enid Sinclair.
“Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh,” reads the synopsis. “Case closed. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it. But smart and single minded Pip Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure and she’s determined to prove it. And if Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is directed by actress Dolly Wells from a screenplay written by Poppy Cogan, Zia Ahmed, Ajoke Ibironke, and Ruby Thomas. The six-episode first season is based on the first novel of Jackson’s novel series about the teenage sleuth’s investigations.Executive producers are Wells, Cogan, Jackson, Matthew Read, Matthew Bouch, Frith Tiplady, Lucy Richer, and Danielle Scott-Haughton, with Florence Walker serving as a producer.
